Dog Park Rules





Rules for the Park.  

This park was built with the generous contributions of time and money by volunteers.  Please respect these rules to keep our park beautiful and functional!

1. Dogs must display current license and rabies vaccination tags.
2. Dogs must be over 6 months old.
3. Dog handlers must be in control and in visual contact with their dogs at all times.
4. No female dogs in heat.
5. Children are allowed in the off-leash dog area at the parents discretion and responsibility.
6. No more than 2 dogs per handler.
7. Dog handlers MUST “SCOOP THE POOP” and dispose of it in a proper manner.
8. No aggressive dog behavior. Handlers shall remove dogs at the first sign of aggression, and are legally responsible for their dog(s) and any injury caused by them. Upon return visits, aggressive dogs should be properly muzzled before entering the bark park area.
9. The off-leash dog area is open from dawn to dusk.
10. No choke chains or slip collars allowed on dogs within park area.
11. No sick dogs.
12. Handlers shall not allow their dogs to bark on a continuous or frequent basis. If this is habitual, the dog should be properly muzzled before entering the bark park area.
13. Handlers, prior to leaving the off-leash dog area, shall fill any holes dug by dogs.
14. Violations of the leash law, dog waste law, and/or dog license law may result in fines, loss of park privileges, and/or other punitive measures.
15. No smoking or eating inside the bark park area. No glass containers allowed in off-leash dog area.
16. No animals other than dogs are permitted.
17. Users of off-leash dog area do so at their own risk. The City of Columbus its officers/officials, employees, agents, and volunteers (the City) shall not be liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog in the off-leash dog area.
